Jennie Redling: Call Back Coach

JENNIE REDLING is trained in the Sanford Meisner Technique* and holds a B.F.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is a member of AEA, AFTRA, SAG, the Dramatists Guild and the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. She has served on the faculties of numerous performing arts organizations including the State University of New York at Purchase and Rockland Center for the Arts.

For the past three years Ms. Redling has been a judge for the Helen Hayes High School Musical Awards and participant in the National High School Musical Awards (The “Jimmy” Awards) sponsored by the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and Nederlander Organization (http://www.nhsmta.com/pages/about-us). She taught numerous acting workshops including a Theatre Intensive Boot Camp for students at the Sallie B. Howard School for Arts and Education in Wilson, North Carolina and recently, a 2009 summer drama workshop for teens with high functioning Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and Learning Disabilities.

She has trained and directed performances ranging from Shakespeare to contemporary and original plays. As a playwright she has been produced nationally and was awarded BMI’s Jerry Harrington Musical Theatre Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement as a librettist, the national Stanley Drama Award, and the Arlene R. and William P. Lewis Playwriting Award for Women. Her audition monologues are published in Smith & Krause’s “Audition Arsenal for Women in Their 20's; 101 Monologues by Type.”

Ms. Redling’s professional theatre experience as actor, teacher, playwright and screenwriter combine to give her a singular perspective on what comprises a successful audition for stage and film. Her coaching sessions are designed to help the artist draw their viewers in by breathing unique life into a role with a level of truth that compels empathy and commands attention.
